Lighting Ceremony
Saturday, November 16th, 2019
The Lighting Ceremony will kick off with a variety of exciting children's activities, food, demonstrations and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. As per tradition, the evening will conclude with the 'flip the switch' lighting ceremony, live entertainment, followed by a magnificent fireworks display. We invite you and your family to come see all that the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights opening ceremony has to offer, on November 16th 2019 in Queen Victoria Park.
Illumination of the Falls
From November 16th, 2019 to January 12, 2020 (Daily beginning around dusk)
As it has since 1925, the Niagara Falls Illumination Board continues its colourful mission to light up the Horseshoe and American Falls each night. Illumination times vary based on the onset of dusk and certain other light and atmospheric conditions.
Winter Festival of Lights - FIREWORKS
The 2019/2020 OPG Winter Festival of Lights Winter Fireworks Series will feature twenty fireworks shows during the WFOL Season.
- Saturday, November 16th (as part of the WFOL Opening Ceremonies)
- Every Fridays at 9 PM: November 22, 29 December 6, 13, 20, 27, January 3
- Every night from December 21st to December 30th & Jannuary 1 to 5 at 9PM.
- New Years Eve: Tuesday, December 31st at 9PM & Midnight
- January 11 & 12
All performances take place at 9PM unless otherwise noted.
ET Canada New Year's Eve Niagara Falls - December 31st 2019
This nationally televised free event attracts over 40,000 revelers to Queen Victoria Park each year to ring in the New Year overlooking the beautiful falls, enjoying the concerts as well as two magnificent fireworks displays. The party also includes food and beverage vendors, as well as an outdoor licensed area. There's no better way to celebrate Canada's largest free New Year's Eve party.
